02.04.04 - THIS IS NO APRIL FOOL'S JOKE, IT IS INDEED APRIL 2ND, 2004.
The South Easterly on-shore which prevailed for the last week, until about 8pm last night, switched to a welcome Southerly breeze. At about 01.30 it started raining heavily bringing some respite for the parched land after wind and sun withered and dried all greenery.

This morning early I awoke to the familiar sound of supers blowing it's Shofar with consistancy and sure enough, at dawn (the attached photo's) the sight which greeted me from the boardwalk left me standing in utter disbelief. After days of onshore and flat conditions, line upon (small) line wrapped into the Bay. Very temperamental place this Supertubes. Has a mind and will of her own with absolutely no respect for man's wants, wills or desires.

Jeffreys Bay

Unfortunately this looks to be a "wind swell" and may not last the day but, who am I to even attempt discerning what this place may do. It should be surfable until about 10/11 today however. Yep, this is supers... this place gives no heed, attention or even the slightest mind to the predictions of weather prophets... she does what she wants, whenever it suits her.
