25.09.04 - LEAVING LA
Ex sarge, LAX, California, Saturday September 25th, 2004.

LAX cop
First class check-in? Los Angeles' LAX airport is actually more like a first class farce. the security is just unprecedented, the whole check-in process taking literally hours. Thanks for nothing Bin - you head-scrambled twat!

Tim & Shanoa Curren
The latest LAX security measures mean we have to wait for extended periods, even on the business class check-in line, as Tim and Shanoa Curren found out. NO, we don't fly business class (we wish!), but being super frequent flyers, most of us have gold or platinum status, which means using Biz check-in.

Jumbo
Just outside the American Airlines/Qantas Frequent Flyer Club windows, sat a big Flying Kangaroo...all beckoning us back Down Under - tempting, but we're all stoked to be heading for Europe for the month...then it's home for about 10 days before heading for Brasil!

Beau Emerton
Beau Naughty was as pissed off as the rest of us with the wait. He spent the night in LA, so at least he didn't have to deal with the appalling peak hour traffic on the San Diego 405 freeway. How do people do it every day!

Joel & Evie Parkinson
Awww...ain't that sweet! Joel Leslie Parkinson giving daughter Evie Kate Parkinson some tender lovin' fatherhood in the FF Club at LAX.

Tom Whitaker
Tommy Whits' eyes were looking as red as his shirt on the second leg of our journey from Los Angeles to Bordeaux. Planes do that to ya!

Flight plan
At 10363 metres up, shooting through the icey minus-48 degrees stratosphere, at 1040kph, we started hitting a few potholes...

FLight plan
...and it got VE-VER-VERRR-VERY bumpy there for a while.
